What is a Virtual Reality XR professional?

A Virtual Reality XR (Extended Reality) professional specializes in creating, designing, and developing immersive experiences using virtual, augmented, and mixed reality technologies. Their work can include building 3D environments, interactive applications, and simulations for industries such as gaming, education, healthcare, and training. These professionals often use tools like Unity or Unreal Engine and have skills in programming, 3D modeling, and user experience design. They collaborate with other creatives and technologists to bring digital worlds to life and solve real-world problems through immersive technology.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Virtual Reality (XR) Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Virtual Reality (XR) Developer, you need a solid background in computer science, 3D graphics, and experience with VR/AR platforms, often supported by a relevant degree or portfolio. Proficiency in tools such as Unity or Unreal Engine, programming languages like C# or C++, and familiarity with XR hardware and SDKs is essential.
