Job description

Position: Virtual Reality Robot Operator

Rate: $17/hour

Duration: 12‐month contract with possible extensions

Location:  Austin, TX 78758 (5 days/week on‐site)

Available Shifts:

  • Mon-Friday 6am-2:30pm
  • Mon-Friday 2:30pm-10:00pm

About the Role:

This position gives you the chance to work directly with cutting‐edge humanoid robotics. You’ll use VR and sensory tools to control robots, support ongoing development efforts, and contribute to high‐visibility initiatives within a rapidly growing robotics team.


Key Responsibilities:

• Operate humanoid robots via VR and GoPro sensory inputs

• Set up and stage scenes for robot tasks

• Document issues with detail and accuracy

• Follow troubleshooting steps and update documentation when needed

• Monitor teammates during active scenes to ensure safety


Qualifications:

• Extensive personal or professional VR gaming experience

• Strong hand‐eye coordination and spatial awareness

• Ability to sit or stand for 90+ minutes

• Full range of motion (robot mirrors operator movement)

• Comfortable with voice recording

• Positive attitude and ability to adapt in developing environments

• Patience and ability to perform repetitive tasks

• Comfortable using a VR headset for 3+ hours

• Reliable transportation and consistent availability for a 40‐hour week


This role requires personal or professional VR gaming experience, including familiarity with wearing a VR headset.


Compensation:


Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.


Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
