The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is seeking to hire two (2) student assistants to work in the Research Division (RD) and under the close supervision of program leads and the Section Managers, the student assistants will focus on providing technical, scientific, and administrative support in implementation of the Refrigerant Management Program (RMP), and other climate programs to help meet the climate goals of Senate Bill (SB) 32 and SB 1383. Thisinclude assisting the team as follows: providing technical and compliance support in the facility registration database, conducting analyses and presenting summaries of the annual reports, assist in the investigation of refrigerant emission complaints and potential rule violations, communicate verbally and in written and coordinate and interact with both internal and external stakeholders, and draft briefing papers and present updates to peers and management.
This position will provide general administrative support, including answering phones, preparing and proofreading documents, sorting and delivering mail, and data entry. The student assistant will also assist the Research Screening Committee (RSC) coordinator with RSC logistics including formatting and editing meeting materials, room scheduling, and virtual mailouts. This position will also assist with Human Resource related functions such as interview scheduling and on-boarding new employees. In addition, the student is expected to provide assistance in RMP and other climate programs as needed.
