Position Overview

Join a growing hospital-based Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery practice dedicated to helping patients restore function, confidence, and quality of life through comprehensive reconstructive care. Working alongside board-certified plastic surgeons, you will play an integral role in guiding patients through every stage of their reconstructive journey, from initial consultation and surgical planning through postoperative recovery and long-term follow-up.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, patient-centered Advanced Practice Provider who enjoys building relationships, managing complex surgical patients, triaging clinical concerns, and expanding procedural and surgical knowledge within a collaborative team environment.

BayCare's Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery program partners with multiple surgical specialties to provide advanced reconstructive services, including breast reconstruction, skin cancer reconstruction, soft tissue reconstruction, trauma-related reconstruction, body contouring after significant weight loss, pediatric reconstructive care, and other complex reconstructive procedures. The team is committed to delivering exceptional, individualized care while utilizing the latest techniques and technology to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.

Position Overview

  • Provide comprehensive perioperative care for plastic and reconstructive surgery patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Conduct patient evaluations, medical histories, physical examinations, and preoperative assessments.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, surgical expectations, recovery, and postoperative care.
  • Triage patient questions, complications, and urgent clinical issues, coordinating care as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with plastic surgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in care coordination, documentation, quality initiatives, and patient navigation throughout the reconstructive process.
  • Foster a compassionate, patient-centered experience that supports patients through often complex and life-changing surgical journeys.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, including Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP), or other relevant certification.
  • Active Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant license, or ability to obtain prior to start.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a surgical, inpatient, procedural, or related clinical setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and patient management skills.
  • Ability to effectively triage clinical concerns and communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
