Job description

Overview
Registered Nurse - ER, Helena, MT. Start date 08/30/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment with a guaranteed 36 hours per week on a rotating 2x3 shift. Weekly pay range: $2,214 to $2,352. This ER role supports an acute care, emergency department setting with varied schedules (most likely nights or mids) and required holiday and weekend coverage. Applicants should reside within a 200-mile radius of the assignment location.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in the ER, including initial triage, rapid assessment, continuous monitoring, and timely intervention.
- Administer medications, establish and maintain IV access, perform urgent procedures, and support resuscitation as needed.
- Document patient care in Epic EMR with accurate, complete, and compliant charting; coordinate with physicians, nurses, and the broader ED team.
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, communicate with patients and families, and help manage patient flow and ED throughput.
- May serve as charge nurse when assigned; support preceptors and assist with onboarding of new staff.
- Participate in shift-to-shift handoffs, patient safety initiatives, and adherence to clinical protocols and trauma standards.
Requirements
- ER RN with 3+ years of ER experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Charge nurse experience required
- Preceptor experience preferred
- Residence within 200 miles of Helena, MT (or within the radius as defined for this assignment)
