Job description

The Registered Nurse in the Same Day Surgery Unit supports a high volume of same day home patients and works with a diverse adult population. The Registered Nurse will work within a complex interdisciplinary team and support and facilitate change.

1. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
2. Current BCLS certification
3. Physical Assessment Course
4. Recent (3 years) experience with adult surgical skills
5. Recent experience in assessing adult heart and lung sounds
6. Demonstrated recent expertise in adult intravenous and venipuncture skills
7. Evidence of a commitment to ongoing continuing education
8. Evidence of self-directed practice
9. Post-operative teaching specific to spine, gynecology, general surgery, strabismus, plastic surgery, orthopedics, arthroscopy, and dental surgery
