As a virtual occupational therapist, collaboration with clients and other professionals is primarily conducted through secure video calls, emails, and digital platforms. You will regularly coordinate with teachers, physicians, and family members to create and adjust therapy plans, ensuring everyone is aligned on client goals and progress. While remote communication can present challenges, such as scheduling and technology barriers, strong organizational and interpersonal skills help maintain seamless teamwork. Many organizations also use shared documentation systems to streamline updates and feedback across the care team.

The goal is to help individuals develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and working, all from the comfort of their own homes. Sessions are personalized and can include assessments, guided exercises, education, and progress monitoring. This approach is especially useful for those who have mobility challenges or live in remote areas.
