Job description

Position Summary
We are currently prioritizing internal applicants for this 26-27 role. Working remotely from a home office, the Occupational Therapy (OT) Services Supervisor is responsible for owning the customer service, account management, and relationship management for assigned partner schools. This role serves as a primary point of contact for school-based stakeholders and ensures high-quality, compliant delivery of therapy services through data monitoring, reporting, and collaboration with Pearson Virtual Schools (PVS) partners.
In addition, the OT Services Supervisor directly manages and supervises a team of Occupational Therapists (OTRs), providing leadership across hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and professional development. The Supervisor monitors OTR effectiveness during therapy sessions and oversees student participation and progress toward IEP goals. This role also contributes to departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives, as assigned.
The OT Services Supervisor reports to the OT Services Department Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
Account Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned partner schools, building strong working relationships with Special Education leaders and staff
  • Coordinate service delivery to meet the unique needs and requirements of assigned schools and students referred for services
  • Collaborate with Student Services Specialists, School Success Partners, and Directors of School Operations through account management meetings, monthly reporting, and issue resolution
  • Identify, report, and escalate service-level concerns through established incident and intake processes in collaboration with Service Delivery leadership
  • Analyze programmatic and operational reports to monitor service delivery effectiveness and compliance
  • Partner with OT Services leadership to implement departmental policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Collaborate with the OT Services Department Manager on staffing models and recruitment strategies to ensure appropriate staffing coverage and a strong OTR pipeline
  • Communicate regularly with Special Education Directors and school teams to ensure consistent implementation of program expectations and procedures
  • Develop and maintain expertise in school- and state-specific policies, procedures, and requirements for delivering Occupational Therapy services

Staff Development and Supervision
  • Interview, hire, onboard, train, and supervise a team of approximately 20 full-time and part-time OTRs providing remote teletherapy services

Note: The number of direct reports may fluctuate throughout the school year based on staffing needs
  • Lead and support professional development activities as requested
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing high-quality written and verbal feedback; document performance concerns, complete log audits, and complete formal performance evaluations
  • Ensure OTRs consistently demonstrate professionalism, therapeutic effectiveness, and a strong customer service orientation
  • Maintain frequent, ongoing communication with direct reports, including at least bi-monthly meetings to support compliance, collaboration, and professional growth
  • Support OTRs in understanding and meeting certification, licensure, and professional development requirements
  • Assist OTRs with the implementation of program updates, procedural changes, and new software or technology platforms
  • Foster a strong sense of community, collaboration, and engagement within the OTR team
  • Review and submit assigned staff timesheets for payroll processing
  • Complete additional duties and departmental projects as assigned

Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a licensed and registered OT(R) providing school-based services (teletherapy experience required)
  • At least one (1) year of direct supervisory experience required; three (3) years preferred
  • Master's degree in a related field required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain multiple state certifications, licenses, and clearances as required for assigned schools
  • Ability to use a personal electronic device and email address for two-step authentication
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on accountability for student outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret service delivery and performance data
  • Comfort presenting information to both small and large audiences
  • High level of technological proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Power BI
