Intervention Services Tutor - Math

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Specific training or job experience required before appointment):ย 

1. AA College Degree or 2 years of College required.ย 

2. Experience working with students in a small group setting preferred.
ย 

POSITION SUMMARY:ย 

The purpose of this position is to support student achievement in math by providing targeted academic intervention and skill development for identified students. Working collaboratively with reading interventionists, classroom teachers, Deans and site staff, the tutor delivers supplemental instruction, reinforces core concepts, and helps create a supportive learning environment that promotes student growth and confidence. Specific responsibilities may vary by building based on student and program needs.ย 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:ย 

1. Provide targeted intervention support for identified students in reading and/or math to support progress toward grade-level standards and benchmarks.ย 

2. Monitor and document student progress using district- or program-approved assessment criteria and instructional tools.ย 

3. Facilitate small-group instructional activities aligned to classroom learning goals and intervention plans.ย 

4. Reinforce foundational and grade-level skills introduced by the classroom teacher through guided practice and differentiated support.ย 

5. Collaborate and communicate regularly with reading interventionists and classroom teachers regarding student progress, performance, and instructional needs.ย
