Information on the division:

Located in Strongsville, the 90+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Hรฉroux-Devtekโ€™s centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear.

As part of the Central Division, you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130.

Summary:

The Quality Inspector will perform quality inspections on in-coming, in-process, and finished products using various precision gauges and CMM equipment for the manufacturing of commercial and military landing gear. They will also assist with audits, maintain MRB materials and areas, and review quality documents for accuracy and completeness.

Main responsibilities:

  • Conduct First Article (FAI), PPAP, and First Piece Inspection using precision gauges, CMM, scales, and visuals.
  • Set-up and verification of various gauging devices, such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Conduct and document second level inspections of Critical To Quality (CTQโ€™s) characteristics.
  • Reconcile final inspection of packaged product and documentation for shipments to the customer.
  • Programming and operation of CMM as needed.
  • Maintain control of MRB materials and areas.
  • Assist with internal and external Audits for customers, NADCAP, AS9100, etc as needed.
  • Maintain gauge calibration system through the following activities: inspection of gages for due dates and condition; collection and distribution of gages for third party calibration; assure that out of calibration gages are never in use.
  • Maintain NCR system by generating and distributing detailed and legible NCRโ€™s as required.
  • Participate in Quality Stand-downs.
  • Interact with Contractor(s), Vendor(s), Supplier(s), and Customer(s) as needed.
  • Maintain open and frequent communication with Department Supervisor and Plant Management Staff.

Our ideal candidate:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required. Associate or Higher-Level Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 Years Experience in a Quality Inspection role
  • Previous experience in a machining or CNC environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/specifications, use of precision gauging, and knowledge of CMM equipment (operation and programming) a plus.
  • Tool-making experience is a plus.
