Locums | Hematology/Oncology | Redding, CA (CA license)Why This Role

  • Fast 30-60 day credentialing
  • Board eligible welcome (heme and onc)
  • Solo outpatient chemo/infusion role with midlevel support
  • Defined weekly blocks Sept through December
  • Strong infusion team (10 infusion RNs)
  • Assignment Details
  • Start/end: Weekly blocks running September through December (list dates of availability)
  • Schedule: Clinic M-F 8a-5p with weeknight call Monday-Thursday (5pm-8am, remote); weekend call Friday 5pm through Monday 8am (remote only)
  • Coverage type: Hospital-based; outpatient clinic and infusion center plus hospital consults and call
  • Volume: 15-20 patients/day; all tumor types
  • Setting: Oncology/hematology clinic and infusion services; MD required onsite for all infusion treatments; can work directly with ER physician or hospitalist for admissions
  • Support: 1 clinic RN, 2 MAs, 2 front office clerks, 1 quality analyst/billing, 10 infusion RNs, plus a midlevel who helps with patient flow and orders
  • EMR: iKnowmed (clinic) and Cerner (infusion)
  • Credentialing: 30-60 days
  • Clinical Details
  • Required scope: All aspects of diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, and treatment of hematology/oncology patients; MD oversight for both the oncology/hematology clinic and infusion services. Infusion center provides chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood/platelet transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotic therapy, rheumatoid arthritis injections, and therapeutic phlebotomies
  • Must be board eligible or board certified in both hematology and oncology, and currently working

  • ACLS (if requesting moderate sedation privileges)
