Job description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Infusion Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering intravenous medications, blood products, and other therapeutic infusions to patients in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. This role requires expertise in venous access, patient assessment, and comprehensive infusion therapy management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and monitor therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician. 
  • Exhibit passion for and experience in Oncology patient care 
  • Manage patients with oncologic and hematologic diagnoses 
  • Duties will include administration of IV and oral medications, vascular access device maintenance and monitoring, chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration, blood administration, therapeutic phlebotomy, assessment of patient symptoms and the management of side effects, and overall collaboration on patient treatment plans 
  • Mixing and administration of chemotherapy drugs  
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families throughout treatment 
  • Triages patient/family phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient's chart. 
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications & Requirements: 
  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred. 
  • Current RN NY state license.
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in an outpatient oncology setting preferred.
  • 2+ years of peripheral IV experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
  • Chemotherapy/biotherapy or ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Bilingual Hindi or Spanish highly preferred.
