We are Looking for:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Infusion Nurse to join our CLS Health clinic in our North Houston area offices. The Infusion Nurse will be responsible for administering intravenous (IV) therapies, medications, blood products, and other infusions to patients in a safe, efficient, and caring manner. This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.


Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients prior to, during, and following infusion therapy. 
  • Administer biologic, immunomodulatory, and other specialty infusion medications in accordance with established protocols. 
  • Verify medication orders, dosing, laboratory requirements, allergies, and patient-specific treatment parameters. 
  • Initiate and maintain IV access and administer medications safely through appropriate infusion techniques. 
  • Monitor patients closely for infusion reactions, adverse events, and changes in clinical status. 
  • Recognize and appropriately manage infusion-related reactions according to established protocols. 
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, potential side effects, treatment expectations, and when to seek medical attention. 
  • Coordinate care with rheumatologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and other members of the healthcare team. 
  • Review relevant laboratory results and communicate abnormal findings or treatment concerns to the prescribing provider. 
  • Document assessments, medication administration, patient response, and education accurately in the electronic medical record. 
  • Maintain compliance with medication safety, infection prevention, regulatory, and organizational standards. 
  • Support a positive patient experience by providing compassionate, individualized care. 
  • Assist with maintaining an efficient and organized infusion center workflow. 
  • May travel to other CLS clinics as needed.
  • Performs related duties as required.



Requirements:
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN)/Licensed Vocations Nurse (LVN) license in the applicable state. 
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient infusion, rheumatology, oncology, or specialty-care setting. 
  •  Rheumatology infusion experience strongly preferred.  
  • Demonstrated experience in IV insertion, administering IV medications, managing infusion therapy, managing 12-14 patients per day 
  • Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills. 
  • Current BLS certification. 
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records. 
  • Will be required to travel between offices in Woodlands and Huntsville, two days a week at each site.
