The YMCA in Hudson is home to one of the area's most unique amenities-a state-of-the-art Golf & Sport Simulator housed in our Sim Zone. We're looking for an energetic, outgoing, and customer-focused individual to serve as our Sim Zone Event Host.

This position is all about creating an exceptional experience for groups renting the space. Whether it's a birthday party, corporate outing, family gathering, or friends enjoying a round of virtual golf, you'll be the face of the Sim Zone and help ensure every guest has an unforgettable visit.

No golf experience is required. We can teach you the simulator. What we can't teach is a passion for creating memorable experiences and making every guest feel welcome.

The salary for this position starts at $18.00 hourly. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.

1. Job Summary:

The Sim Zone Host is responsible for creating a welcoming and engaging experience for members, guests, and rental groups utilizing the Sim Zone space. Serve as the primary on-site host for member, corporate, and private events by preparing event spaces, ensuring technology and equipment are operating properly, providing guests with an orientation to the facility, supporting event activities, and restoring spaces following event completion.

The Sim Zone Host fosters a positive and inviting environment by greeting and directing guests, responding to questions, and ensuring events run smoothly from start to finish. This position delivers outstanding customer service while maintaining a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive experience for all participants.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, is comfortable with technology, highly organized, and takes pride in delivering memorable experiences that reflect the YMCA's commitment to hospitality, service, and community.

2. Essential Functions:

Prepare the Sim Zone for scheduled rentals by ensuring the space is clean, organized, stocked, and set according to rental agreements and event specifications.

Inspect, test, and maintain equipment and technology, including the golf simulator, E6 software, gaming systems, televisions, sound system, clubs, controllers, accessories, furniture, and amenities to ensure they are operational and ready for guest use.

Welcome guests and serve as the primary host by providing orientations on equipment operation, software navigation, facility policies, event expectations, and safety guidelines.

Answer guest questions and provide ongoing support throughout rentals to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience.

Assist guests with simulator functions, golf course selection, games, entertainment features, and other available amenities.

Monitor activities and equipment use to promote safety, prevent misuse, and maintain accountability for equipment and accessories.

Troubleshoot basic technology and equipment issues and promptly report malfunctions, damages, maintenance concerns, and safety hazards.

Coordinate with Welcome Desk staff and other team members to address guest needs and support successful event operations.

Deliver outstanding customer service while fostering a welcoming, engaging, and professional environment for all guests.

Clean and sanitize the Sim Zone and related equipment following each rental, including furniture, tables, counters, simulator components, and other surfaces; dispose of trash and recycling; return equipment to designated locations; reset the space for the next rental; and secure equipment according to operating procedures.

Support the promotion and successful operation of Sim Zone programs, events, and rentals.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support Sim Zone operations and enhance the guest experience.

3. Relationships:

This position's reports to the Executive Director. The incumbent interacts regularly with internal and external stakeholders.

4. Qualifications:

Required

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Comfortable learning and utilizing technology and software applications.

Available to work evenings, weekends, and occasional special events.

Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Friendly, outgoing, and guest-focused demeanor.

Demonstrated customer service skills.

Previous customer service, hospitality, recreation, event support, or entertainment experience preferred.

Interest in golf, gaming, sports simulation, or entertainment technology preferred.

5. Working Conditions:

Frequent standing and walking.

Occasional lifting of equipment up to 30 lbs.

Ability to move tables, chairs, and event supplies.

Ability to operate computers, tablets, gaming systems, and audiovisual equipment.
