What is a virtual guard?

A Virtual Guard is a security professional who monitors live surveillance footage and security systems remotely to detect and respond to potential threats. Using advanced camera systems, motion detectors, and audio communication tools, they help prevent crimes, unauthorized access, and safety incidents in real time. Virtual Guards work from a centralized location, providing an efficient and cost-effective alternative to on-site security personnel. They may also alert law enforcement or on-site staff when necessary, ensuring rapid response to security concerns.

What are the typical work shifts and environments for a virtual guard?

Virtual Guard roles often involve shift work, as remote monitoring services typically operate 24/7 to ensure constant surveillance coverage. You may work in dedicated security operations centers or remotely from a secure location, depending on the employer’s setup.
