Overview

Otterbein has an employment opportunity for an Assisted Director of Nursing (ADON). This position is a critical member of the health care leadership team.

Otterbein is searching for a strong, mission driven nurse leader to join the dedicated and compassionate team committed to enhancing the quality of life and holistic growth of older persons we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Track Physician and Ancillary Visits and Orders
  • Discuss resident observations/concerns with appropriate coordinator
  • Provides oversight, coaching and direction to staff as needed
  • Medicaid Waiver oversight
  • Facilitate the weekly Medicare/Therapy/Resident meetings
  • Complete the reassessments for residents and hospital visits when appropriate
  • Assist in the management of the survey process
  • Assist with doctor rounds
  • Attend daily clinical huddle
  • Serve as the "on-call" nurse in charge on a rotating basis
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of approved Registered Nursing program
  • Licensure/Certification: Valid Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a nurse in long term care. Experience as a Nursing Supervisor is highly desirable. Assisted Living knowledge preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Sufficient level computer skills to perform electronic medical record/submission duties

  • Demonstrate knowledge of clinical standards of practice, regulations and reimbursement governing long-term care and Medicare/Medicaid participation.

  • Communicate a sense of caring, concern, and dignity for residents.
  • Understand how to place decision-making in the hands of the residents whenever possible and appropriate.
  • Make prompt and accurate judgments with regard to resident care and emergencies.
