Job Description:

First Stop Health is seeking a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) with a strong foundation in mental health and holistic, lifestyle-based care. This unified role supports both mental well-being–focused coaching and broader health and wellness coaching across our virtual care ecosystem.


Coaches work directly with participants to navigate everyday mental well-being challenges, build resilience, and create sustainable behavior change using evidence-based, participant-centered coaching approaches. You’ll collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams and play an active role in driving program quality, outcomes, and innovation.


Schedule:

  • 10-15 hours per week
  • Work a minimum of two days per week
  • 2 hours per week must be between 4-8pm CT Mon – Thu or 8a-12p CT Sat – Sun
  • Schedule needs to be consistent weekly

Responsibilities:

Coaching & Participant Care

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based mental health and well-being coaching via video or phone
  • Apply coaching techniques grounded in cognitive behavioral strategies, motivational interviewing, and behavior change science
  • Support participants with goal setting, stress management, resilience-building, and sustainable lifestyle behavior change

Collaboration & Care Integration

  • Partner with interdisciplinary care teams to support whole-person care
  • Escalate concerns appropriately and follow established clinical, safety, and documentation protocols
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture

Documentation & Outcomes

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies
  • Track and analyze participant engagement and outcomes
  • Use data, feedback, and insights to continuously improve coaching quality and participant experience

Professional Development & Program Support

  • Participate in required training, supervision, and team meetings
  • Stay current on coaching best practices, behavioral science research, and mental health trends
  • Support non-clinical initiatives such as content development, webinars, speaking engagements, and product or technology implementation as needed.

Requirements:

  • Active NBC-HWC certification (required)
  • Strong foundation in mental health coaching and holistic, lifestyle-based care
  • Experience delivering virtual coaching preferred
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment
  • Collaborative, service-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
