Both roles are remote and serve different industry needs, with the Engineer role requiring more technical expertise.

What engineers make $500,000?

Senior engineers in specialized fields such as software engineering, petroleum engineering, and aerospace engineering can earn $500,000 or more annually, especially with experience, advanced skills, and leadership roles. High compensation often includes bonuses, stock options, or profit sharing, particularly in tech companies or industries with high demand for expertise.

How does a Virtual Assistant Engineer typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve virtual assistant performance?

Virtual Assistant Engineers regularly work with product managers, UX designers, and data scientists to enhance the capabilities and user experience of virtual assistants. Collaboration often involves participating in sprint meetings, sharing data insights, and integrating user feedback into system improvements. This teamwork ensures the virtual assistant remains accurate, responsive, and aligned with evolving business needs. Effective communication and openness to iterative feedback are essential for success in this collaborative environment.

Can you be a VA with no experience?

Virtual Assistant Engineers and similar virtual assistant roles often do not require prior experience, as many employers provide training on necessary tools like email management, scheduling, and basic software. Entry-level positions may focus on strong communication skills, organization, and a willingness to learn, making it possible to start without previous experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Virtual Assistant Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Virtual Assistant Engineer, you need strong programming skills (often in Python, Java, or C#), experience with AI and NLP technologies, and a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with platforms like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, dialog management systems, and cloud-based development environments is typically required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities help you collaborate effectively and design user-friendly voice or chat interfaces. These skills ensure you can build, deploy, and refine intelligent virtual assistants that enhance user experiences and meet business objectives.

Can you make 10k a month as a virtual assistant?

Earning $10,000 a month as a virtual assistant engineer is possible but typically requires advanced skills, specialized services, and a high volume of clients or premium contracts. Most virtual assistants earn between $15 and $50 per hour, so reaching that income level often involves building a strong reputation, offering niche expertise, and working efficiently with tools like project management software. Achieving this income may also depend on the market demand and your ability to scale your services.

Is AI going to replace virtual assistants?

AI technology can automate certain tasks performed by virtual assistants, such as scheduling and data entry, but it is unlikely to fully replace the role. Virtual assistants often require human judgment, communication skills, and adaptability that AI currently cannot replicate entirely. As a result, virtual assistant engineers and professionals will continue to develop and manage AI tools to enhance their work.

What are Virtual Assistant Engineers?

Virtual Assistant Engineers are professionals who design, develop, and maintain virtual assistant technologies, such as chatbots and voice-activated AI systems. They work with artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and machine learning tools to create digital assistants that understand and respond to user input. Their responsibilities may include coding backend logic, integrating APIs, and continually improving the assistant's performance based on user interactions. Virtual Assistant Engineers often collaborate with UX designers, data scientists, and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences.

Job description

Head of Virtual Events/Experiences

About Riley

Riley is on a mission to create happier and more engaged teams. For ages, offices have played a major part in company culture and now that workplace trends have accelerated towards remote and hybrid teams, we're here to fill the void left by the rituals and experiences that used to be shared in person. Riley's answer is a platform that combines experienced, service-minded individuals with technology to create a new way to connect with employees and keep them engaged and happy.

A huge part of Riley's mission is to provide diverse job opportunities and career advancement paths for individuals of all backgrounds.

The Role

This role is ideal for someone who is eager to get in on the ground floor of an exciting new startup. This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to take ownership and gain knowledge across multiple aspects of a business. You will wear many hats and must be comfortable knowing that no two days are alike. You'll be asked to collaborate directly with both Co-Founders and your feedback will be instrumental in shaping the foundation of the company. While your responsibilities will be broad, the primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Creating Event Programming/Experiences
    1. Riley's clients expect curated and thoughtful events to keep their teams engaged and interested so we need someone who likes to think out of the box to create novel, fun, and worthwhile virtual events. You'll be instrumental in sourcing, organizing, and coordinating events for clients and also building the database of events for the future.
    2. Riley seeks to recreate some of the rituals that are missed from the physical office, such as acknowledgment of birthdays or special occasions. As head of events/experiences, we'll need someone who can fill this void by offering up interesting ways for companies to reimagine these types of employee experiences.
  2. Liaising With Co-Founders
    1. As we grow Riley, we're hoping to find a motivated individual who's interested in learning what works and what doesn't and isn't afraid to share valuable feedback. You'll be instrumental in sharing ideas that will be implemented in all facets of the business including marketing, operations, and training.
  3. Team Building
    1. As one of our first employees, the expectation will be that you will grow into a leadership role in a short period of time. This means we're looking for someone who's up for a challenge and isn't afraid to learn new things and is eager to not only learn, but also to teach and lead by example.

We show a strong preference for those with a demonstrated, scrappy, customer service oriented bend.

*For this role, you will be reporting to Manhattan five days a week during regular business hours (8:00AM-5:00PM).

Who You Are

  1. A solid human being....you do things the right way and won't compromise your morals.
  2. Events experience of 1-3 years highly preferred. Track record showing you've coordinated events (ideally virtual) or experiences for offices and their employees.
  3. Hospitality industry (hotels, restaurants) experience a plus.
  4. Ideally you've managed people in the past. Not a deal-breaker, but at some point you'll be in charge of a team, so experience helps.
  5. You're super organized - you even surprise yourself with how you stay on top of everything.
  6. You're high energy - the more you have to do, the happier you are.
  7. You're a people person who truly cares about keeping the team happy, and have been known to go above and beyond to make sure of that.
  8. You're mature enough to take the work seriously, no matter how tedious the task.
