Job description

To be an employee of Live! Casino Virginia, you must 21 years of age or over.

The Utilities Attendant is responsible for maintaining the exterior grounds of the casino property. Grounds include parking lots and all other outside areas.

Currently hiring Attendants for first and second shifts. First shift (7am – 3:30pm, Thursday through Monday), Second shift (3pm – 11:30pm, Wednesday through Sunday)


Where You'll Make an Impact:

  • Responsible for maintaining grounds in a clean, neat, and orderly appearance.
  • Order supplies for plants and equipment to maintain the grounds.
  • Responsible for cutting, weeding, and edging the grass, raking the leaves, and sweeping the parking lots.
  • Responsible for planting, removing, and relocating plants, flowers, trees, and bushes.
  • Remove all trash and debris from parking lot areas and grounds, as well as emptying trash containers.
  • Use, maintain, and clean all machinery equipment.
  • Responsible for ensuring all signs, posts, chain fences are straight and secure.
  • Properly maintain the grounds to ensure the safety and security of all guests and team members.
  • May be called upon and assigned from time to time assist with internal housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Complete knowledge of all facilities and entertainment available to guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills to Help You Succeed:

  • Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions.
  • Ability to use all necessary tools and equipment to perform maintenance functions.
  • Ability to answer all calls promptly while maintaining a polite and courteous attitude; always pay attention to the needs of guests and team members.
  • Knowledge of OSHA required standards and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of all personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.

Must-Haves:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Less than two (2) years’ experience with grounds keeping and/or outdoor maintenance of a commercial property/facility.
  • Ability to work in an environment where you will be exposed to alcohol and smoking.
  • Must have the ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by Virginia Gaming Control Board or any other applicable regulatory entity as may be required to perform assigned duties, or as required by Live’s operating standards. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting, standing, bending, and walking.
  • Lifting (Overhead, arm’s length, up to 25 lbs., assisted lifting may exceed 200 lbs.)
