Summary:

The Safety & Security Officer is responsible for helping provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, employees, vendors, contractors, and event participants at Rawhide Western Town. Serving as both a safety professional and a guest service ambassador, this position maintains a visible presence during concerts, festivals, rodeos, private events, holiday celebrations, and other special events. Responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, assisting with crowd management, controlling access to restricted areas, responding to incidents and emergencies, and supporting a positive guest experience through exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

Safety & Security:

  • Conduct routine safety and security patrols throughout Rawhide Western Town, including event venues, attractions, parking lots, backstage areas, vendor locations, and other assigned areas.
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter unsafe behavior and promote a safe environment.
  • Monitor guest activity and remain alert for safety hazards, suspicious behavior, policy violations, and potential security concerns.
  • Promote compliance with venue policies and event rules through professional communication and sound judgment.
  • Assist with bag inspections, credential verification, ticket or wristband validation, and access control as assigned.
  • Monitor restricted, employee-only, and VIP areas to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Respond appropriately to disturbances, accidents, medical emergencies, lost children, lost property, severe weather, and other incidents while following established procedures.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, Tribal Police, emergency medical services, fire personnel, or other emergency responders when additional assistance is needed.
  • Preserve the integrity of incident scenes when appropriate and document observations accurately.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident reports before the end of each shift.

Event Operations:

  • Assist with crowd management before, during, and after events to promote guest safety and efficient movement throughout the venue.
  • Direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic as assigned.
  • Support opening and closing event procedures, including venue walkthroughs and securing designated areas.
  • Assist with emergency evacuations and implementation of emergency action plans.
  • Provide safety and security support for performers, entertainers, VIP guests, vendors, and special events as assigned.
  • Assist event leadership in maintaining orderly operations during high-volume attendance.

Guest Experience:

  • Serve as a professional ambassador for Rawhide Western Town by creating a welcoming, respectful, and service-oriented environment.
  • Greet guests, answer questions, provide directions, and offer event information.
  • Resolve guest concerns using professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment while maintaining a positive experience.
  • Assist guests requiring additional support, including families with children, elderly guests, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Maintain a calm, approachable, and professional demeanor in all interactions.

Communication & Teamwork:

  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors, event management, fellow officers, Tribal Police, emergency responders, vendors, contractors, and other departments.
  • Attend pre-event briefings, safety meetings, and required training sessions.
  • Promptly report safety hazards, operational concerns, guest complaints, or unusual incidents.
  • Work collaboratively with event staff to support successful event operations while prioritizing safety.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamwork throughout each event.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Complete incident reports, patrol logs, daily activity reports, and other required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive or confidential information.
  • Follow all organizational policies, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.
