Job description

Summary
Seeking a Storyteller Who Can...
Evoke Emotion Through Visuals.
VIDEOGRAPHY & CONTENT CREATION INTERN
Homes on the Sound • KW Puget Sound • Browns Point / NE Tacoma, WA
Part-Time • 10-20 hrs/week • $18-$20/hr • Flexible Hours
The Vision
Tacoma is full of stories that deserve to be shared-stories that make you smile, feel proud of your community, and prompt you to message a friend, "Have you seen this spot?"
We're launching a community-focused video series - "Made in Tacoma" and "Made in Browns Point" - highlighting the authentic people, businesses, and moments that define this unique part of the Pacific Northwest. This isn't about corporate promos or typical real estate ads. We're creating content that genuinely engages viewers.
And we want the perfect collaborator to bring this vision to life.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Visit local businesses with your camera and capture their stories
  • Conduct relaxed, conversational interviews with owners
  • Film the essence of the neighborhood: shops, food, faces, waterfronts, quirky signs-everything that tells the story
  • Edit each episode into a main 3-5 minute video and a shorter 60-90 second vertical cut
  • Occasionally cover community events that are often a lot of fun
  • Share your creative ideas-if you think of a better or funnier approach, we want to hear it
Who You Are
No film degree or expensive gear required. What matters is a keen eye, strong editing skills, and a personality that quickly puts people at ease.
  • High school senior, college student, or recent graduate from any discipline
  • Skilled at shooting videos that keep viewers engaged until the end
  • Proficient in editing software-Premiere, DaVinci, CapCut, iMovie, or others
  • Understand how content performs differently across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, and tailor your posts accordingly
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently
  • Bonus points if you have drone piloting skills, graphic design experience, or familiarity with the local area
On Creativity
Let's be clear: creativity isn't optional here-it's essential. We want someone who sees a local diner and instantly envisions multiple ways to film it. Someone who thinks a Stranger Things-themed dry cleaner video sounds like a fun project. Someone who knows the difference between a technically adequate video and one that truly stops people mid-scroll.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
The Details
  • Compensation: $18-$20/hr based on experience and skills
  • Commitment: 10-20 hours per week, scheduled around your availability
  • Filming locations: Browns Point, NE Tacoma, and nearby areas
  • Editing work can be completed remotely
  • This is an ongoing series, not a one-off assignment
