Job description

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.

  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

  • Federal Work Study student may apply.

  • In good disciplinary standing.

  • Must be located in the U.S.

  • Serve as the on-camera host for Red Mic video segments, including interviews, event coverage, student features, and campus updates.
  • Work closely with the content production team to brainstorm topics and film engaging video content.
  • Engage with students on-camera in a fun, professional, and inclusive manner.
  • Contribute ideas to help evolve the voice and tone of Red Mic.
  • Assist with basic post-production tasks (optional, depending on skillset).
  • Promote Red Mic content across Berklee platforms and encourage student participation.
Qualifications:
  • Strong on-camera presence with excellent communication skills.
  • Outgoing, charismatic, and comfortable interacting with diverse groups of people.
  • Passion for music, dance, media, and student life at Berklee.
  • Able to work collaboratively with a creative team and take direction well.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate filming needs, especially during events.
  • Experience with social media, video production, or hosting is a plus, but not required.
