Job description

The Security Installer shall troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain access control systems, electronic key systems, locking devices, visitor management systems, IP video surveillance, and any other hardware related to those systems and devices.
Requirements
Major Roles and Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair Electronic Access Control Systems including door hardware, readers, low voltage wiring and all related components.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair Video Surveillance Systems including cameras, mounting hardware, software, and all related components.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Alarm Systems including keypads, sensors and all related components.
  • Pull, route and terminate various types of cables as needed for the equipment.
  • Test and verify that all systems and devices installed function properly and in accordance to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with Project Managers and team members on project updates.
  • Coordinate with internal Engineering team to program alarm systems, access systems, and IP video surveillance systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on alarm, access, and video systems.
  • Maintain high level of quality and standards on all installations performed.
  • Organize and manage parts and tools.
  • Ensure departmental daily records are maintained and accurate.
  • Ensure safety best practices are being followed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (vocational/technical/business school background is strongly preferred).
  • Minimum of one year of experience in the security field preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience with low voltage cabling preferred.
  • Familiarity with the use of various hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with MS Office.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Good judgment is required.
  • Strong organizational skills are required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are a must.

Additional Notes
  • Probationary period of 90 days.
  • Individuals with a felony or misdemeanor convictions MAY not be hired.
  • Individuals must not have any alcohol or drug-related convictions or suspensions within the past three years.
  • Individual must be able to read and understand instructions in English as well as possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Individual must be able to pass a drug and physical screening as well as background requirements.
  • Individual must be available to work variable hours and willing to travel.
