Job Description:
This job is a typical Network Engineer role: Cisco IOS stack, CCNA preferred/CCNP a plus, ITIL familiarity, ITOM familiarity, resolving tickets, leading network related projects, incident response (on call), WiFi, SD-WAN, LAN/SDN, VPN, etc.
Designs, implements, maintains and supports the network infrastructure. Maximizes network operations by monitoring performance, troubleshooting problems and outages and scheduling maintenance and periodic upgrades. Ensures network is scalable, configured to meet business objectives and available 24x7. Configures network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, etc.). At higher levels, envisions, defines and leads in the development of industry-leading technologies, systems and network infrastructure. Critical focus areas include video, voice, data, automation and security.
Key Responsibilities:
Plays a lead role in providing global Network Engineering support.
Configures and installs complex network devices, infrastructure and systems.
Ensures the ongoing performance of network maintenance and systems upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
Monitors network security and risk metrics, tracks issues and exceptions to risk policies and standards and liaises with Cybersecurity team members - suggesting process improvements and ensuring compliance with company security protocols and guidelines.
Analyzes current network configuration, performance metrics and business needs, recommending future infrastructure improvements.
Works to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to network infrastructure.
Key Qualifications:
BA/BS degree and 6-8 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Pay Range: $49.47/hr
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
