Summary

The Assistant AV Engineer will technically support all broadcast platforms including stadium scoreboard production, broadcast studio production, production data center, control room, and associated equipment.  Technical front line for the in house and network broadcasts within Highmark Stadium. This role will assist with regular maintenance and setup of audio/video equipment and systems.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in daily system operation/maintenance tasks for signal distribution, routing systems, audio system, and play out equipment
  • Front line support for all Bills home games for Bills and network productions including field level, production data center, concourses, service level, or other fan facing areas
  • Assists in technical support of control room productions, AV setups, and broadcast studio
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of Bills production equipment and systems
  • Pre-event testing and gameday crew guidance for Bills home games and select 3rd party events
  • Assists with installation of new production and AV system installations at Highmark Stadium
  • Actively participates in the support of the video production team including equipment preventative maintenance, setup, and operation
  • Assists in the setup and support of select Bills and 3rd party events AV and/or scoreboard setups
  • Work closely with Stadium Operations staff maintaining campus wide AV installations
  • Communicates and works diligently with other departments within the Buffalo Bills organization
  • Other Tasks and Projects as business dictates and requires

      Qualifications:

      • Minimum 2 years of broadcast engineering experience or related field
      • College degree in Broadcasting, Engineering, or related field
      • Strong working knowledge of production equipment including cameras, lighting, switchers, graphic systems, encoders, audio systems, and routing/patching procedures
      • Aptitude for operating electronic equipment for broadcast and production required;

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Professional sports broadcast or AV engineering strongly preferred
      • Familiarity with Ross Xpression, EVS routing, ENG camera setups, and/or large venue audio systems preferred
      • Ability to learn and apply new technology, programs, and specialized software applications
      • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
      • Flexibility in working extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays and travel as required
      • Strong attention to detail
      • Strong work ethic, team-oriented attitude, enthusiastic approach and results driven
      • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

      Physical Requirements

      • Ability to set-up and tear down equipment including lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching, bending, stooping, cabling, etc.
      • Must have the ability to lift, push, pull approximately 25lbs
      • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours during a single shift, while navigating ramps, stairs and elevators
      • Must be able to work in all seasons include extreme heat, cold, snow or rain

      Compensation 

      • The role has an anticipated annualized salary range is between $65,000 - $75,000 . Salary will be based on the level role offered in accordance with candidate’s experience, qualifications and internal team equity.
