Job description

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support one of our important partners, delivering secure, resilient, and mission-critical capabilities across a complex environment. This program is the delivery of regional IT services to the end user offering support of end user devices including desktop, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. This role requires independent and team-based execution, proactive analysis to identify root causes, and the ability to support resilient infrastructure solutions.
This position is eligible for a $10k Welcome Bonus to be paid out in increments of $5k after 90 days and $5k after a year!
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Follow established Connectivity Operations Team procedures, utilizing ticketing systems for issue tracking and maintaining detailed documentation for all network activities.
  • Provide hands-on support for network upgrade projects and initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Install, maintain, operate, and secure LAN infrastructure and network devices to support organizational requirements.
  • Respond to hardware failures by replacing and configuring networking components such as switches, routers, and access points.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user connectivity issues, delivering responsive and professional customer support.
  • Manage access to network segments and resources in accordance with established security policies and access control procedures.
  • Perform network hardware, operating system, and software updates to maintain optimal performance, functionality, and security.
  • Adhere to established change management and configuration management processes to maintain network integrity and compliance.

Required:
  • Two (2) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required.
  • An active security clearance with polygraph.
  • Associate's degree in engineering technology from an accredited college is required.
  • Two (2) additional years of network engineering experience may be substituted for the Associate's degree.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; periodic work in tight areas.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must possess certifications to demonstrate CWIP compliance (A+, Net+ or Sec+)

Desired:
  • Experience with installation and configuration of network devices, such as firewalls, switches, routers, and cabling.
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper devices is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
  • Experience with network operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and ticketing systems.
