Description:

Phoenix Systems is growing and we are looking for an experienced Audio/Video installation technician with Control4 certification(s) to join our amazing team. We are looking for candidates that are self-motivated, personable and of good character. You should be passionate about custom electronics and installation and all about providing world class service to our high-end clients.


Starting salary is up to $36.00/hour depending on experience and certifications.

Anticipated start date for this position is September 28, 2026.

Requirements:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, remote controls, shades and screens, advanced lighting controls, and systems requiring Control4 automation and programming
  • Communicate with the customer to review the work orders, answer customer questions professionally and properly
  • Instruct and train the customer/end user on the system functions and operation.
  • Have in depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements
  • Completely understand security systems Phoenix Systems installs and services (NX, SimonXTi, 2Gig, DSC, Qolsys, Etc.)
  • Handle after hours emergency service calls (as assigned on a rotation basis)
  • Create and edit Control4 IR Drivers
  • Ability to install and program shades and screens
  • Have tools and experience needed to terminate multimode fiber ends
  • Knowledge to calibrate advanced projectors and receivers for optimal video and sound
  • Ability to think on your own and resolve technical issues without
  • Must also be able to work and perform duties of Trim Tech II/III and A/V Security Technician II
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with security and/or Audio/Video installations required
  • Active Control4 Associate Installer & Automation Programmer certifications through SnapAV is required
  • Active Control4 PCNA Certification through SnapAV is preferred
  • Centralized Lighting Certification through SnapAV is preferred
  • Lutron Lighting Certification Preferred
  • Knowledge of cable types and technologies and can distinguish which types to use in installation scenarios
  • Ability to accurately assess system design and functionality when adding additional components
  • Knowledge of setup of Networking requirements for Routers, Switches, DVR’s, Network Components, WAP’s, etc.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work in a clean and unobtrusive manner
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities.
  • Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening
  • Clear MVR required
  • Technical or Vocational related schooling is preferred


Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear.
  • Frequent use of step ladders and extension ladders
  • Frequent amount of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
