Job description

Position Summary

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for leading the APGA Tour and APGA Foundation next phase of growth and impact. The CEO will be responsible for advancing the organizationโ€™s mission, expanding its national influence, strengthening strategic partnerships, driving fundraising efforts, and building a sustainable organization that creates opportunities through golf. The CEO must be equally comfortable presenting in the boardroom, engaging with Fortune 500 executives and major donors, and rolling up their sleeves to support a lean, entrepreneurial organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who combines executive presence with humility, operational excellence, and an unwavering commitment to the APGAโ€™s mission.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of: Knowledge of golf, the golf industry, or a genuine passion for the game and its ability to create opportunity.
  • Skill in: Capable of setting long-term organizational direction. Strategic thinker who translates ideas into actionable plans. Synthesizes information quickly and makes sound decisions in real time. Comfortable making difficult decisions while building organizational consensus. Confident, independent leader who can work collaboratively with founders, board members, and key stakeholders while providing clear direction for the organization's future. Demonstrated fundraising success, including major gifts and corporate sponsorship development. Leading a grassroots organization with limited resources. High intellectual capacity with outstanding analytical and communication skills. Relationship building; connects naturally with corporate executives, donors, community leaders, and players. Resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment. High integrity and unquestioned ethical standards.
  • Ability to: Inspire confidence across diverse audiences.
Qualifications
  • Experience Senior leadership experience within a nonprofit organization, mission-driven enterprise, or college athletics.
  • P&L responsibility for $3+ million annual budgets.
  • Experience leading a team of 5 direct reports.
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors and executive leadership teams.
  • Strong understanding of financial management and organizational budgeting.
  • Experience building strategic partnerships across the corporate, nonprofit, and community sectors.
