Job description

About LegalZoom

LegalZoom is on a mission to help people navigate the legal system with confidence and clarity. As a leader in online legal services for over 25 years, we combine technology, attorney-led solutions, and expertise to protect the aspirations, lives, and legacies of millions of customers. If you’re ready to contribute to a collaborative, diverse, and distributed group of creative thinkers and problem-solvers, we can’t wait to meet you.

This hybrid position will work remotely as well as onsite in our Sherman Oaks CA office.

Human-in-the-Loop

At LegalZoom, we operate with a human-in-the-loop model, where AI enhances—rather than replaces—human judgment. We believe the strongest outcomes for our customers come from thoughtfully integrating human expertise with AI capabilities to improve accuracy, safety, and decision-making.

To align with our AI-integrated operating model, our interview process will assess AI fluency, curiosity, and measurable/impactful workflow integration.
Overview

LegalZoom is seeking an AI-native Video Editor to join the Brand & Creative team. This role combines storytelling, editing, motion design, videography, and AI fluency to create high-performing content across brand, social, performance marketing, employer brand, and internal communications.

Working with producers, creatives, and marketers, you’ll own video execution from capture through final delivery. This includes hands-on videography for select shoots, support for turnkey in-person and remote productions, and post-production across editing, motion graphics, color correction, audio finishing, versioning, and channel optimization. You’ll ensure footage and finished content meet the creative intent, audience needs, and requirements of each brief. Producers will manage timelines and workflows, while you’ll proactively seek feedback, refine your craft, and bring a storyteller’s mindset and high standard of execution to every project.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller and skilled maker who knows how to turn footage into engaging, polished content through clear narratives, strong hooks, effective pacing, and thoughtful execution.

You will

  • Edit high-quality video content across advertising, social media, employer brand, product marketing, customer storytelling, internal communications, and product demos.

  • Use AI throughout the creation lifecycle to strengthen creative development, streamline production and post-production. This includes editorial planning, footage and asset evaluation, transcript-based editing, asset creation, captioning, iteration, repurposing, automation, templates, and other repeatable workflows that increase speed and efficiency without compromising storytelling, accuracy, creative quality, or brand consistency.

  • Deliver thoughtful, strategically informed edits with minimal oversight, applying platform best practices, storytelling principles, and brand standards across paid social, organic social, and internal communications. Adapt pacing, structure, hooks, formats, and creative approach to the needs and behaviors of each channel and audience.

  • Maintain organized video, footage, and creative asset libraries, helping establish scalable workflows that improve efficiency, consistency, and reusability across projects.

  • Support both in-person and remote video productions by operating camera, lighting, and audio equipment, capturing high-quality footage that aligns with the creative objectives, audience needs, and distribution requirements of each project.

You have

  • 5+ years of experience as a Video Editor, whether on an in-house team (preferred), at a creative agency. What matters most is a strong portfolio showcasing work for modern consumer or technology brands, with evidence of concept-driven storytelling, clear visual narratives, and thoughtful use of typography, color, composition, photography, and motion.

  • Demonstrated, active fluency with AI creative tools — not familiarity, not curiosity. You use these tools in your current workflow. Your portfolio or process reflects it.

  • Deep expertise in post-production, including video editing, color correction, motion graphics, audio finishing, versioning, and delivery for digital and social platforms.

  • Strong organizational and technical skills, with experience managing footage, creative assets, and post-production workflows at scale.

  • Hands-on videography skills for smaller, turnkey productions, including in-office filming with professional cameras and lighting in streamlined setups beyond iPhone capture.

  • Proficiency in:

  • Video editing and motion graphics (Premiere Pro, After Effects)

  • Design and collaboration tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud)

  • Generative image and video tools, at least one of the following or equivalent: (Midjourney, Firefly, Ideogram, Flux, Stable Diffusion, Runway, Veo, Sora, Pika, Luma, Descript, Adobe AI tools)

  • AI-powered audio, transcription, captioning, and localization tools

  • Creative workflow automation and asset management platforms

  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and experience working across brand, product, growth, and production teams.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity — this team is evolving its systems in real time, and this role will be part of defining what comes next.

The salary range for this role is $84,400-$135,000. Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package. You will also receive a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, as seen below.
