What is a remote video editing internship?

Remote video editing internships are opportunities for students or entry-level individuals to gain hands-on experience with video editing while working from home or another location outside of a traditional office. Interns typically assist with tasks such as editing footage, adding effects, creating transitions, and sometimes collaborating on content planning. These internships help participants build technical skills with editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, while also learning about the production process. Remote internships offer flexibility but require strong communication skills and self-motivation to meet deadlines and deliver quality work.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a video editing intern in a remote setting?

To thrive as a remote Video Editing Intern, you need a solid understanding of video editing fundamentals, familiarity with storytelling techniques, and often some coursework or portfolio work in media or film. Proficiency in editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, along with cloud-based collaboration platforms, is typically required. Strong self-motivation, time management, and clear communication are crucial soft skills for remote collaboration and meeting project deadlines. These abilities ensure you can deliver high-quality edits efficiently while working independently and effectively with distributed teams.

What are common challenges faced by remote video editing interns, and how can they overcome them?

Remote video editing interns often face challenges such as managing time effectively without direct supervision, maintaining clear communication with team members, and accessing large media files over the internet. To overcome these obstacles, interns should establish a structured daily routine, proactively communicate progress and questions via email or chat, and familiarize themselves with cloud-based file sharing and collaboration tools. Developing good organizational skills and regularly syncing with supervisors can also help ensure projects stay on track.

Performance Creative Strategist & GC Creator

Brandon, MS • Remote

Part-time

Job description

About the Role

We are a growing virtual assistant staffing agency helping U.S. healthcare organizations build reliable remote teams.

We are looking for a Performance Creative Strategist & On-Camera UGC Creator to own the development of paid social creatives from research and concept development through scripting, filming, editing, and performance-driven iteration.

This is not a traditional social media content role.

Your primary objective is to create direct-response ads that generate qualified leads and booked calls at increasingly efficient acquisition costs. Creative decisions should be driven by customer insights and performance data—not aesthetics alone.

You will work closely with our marketing team, receive visibility into creative performance, identify what is and is not working, and use those insights to develop the next generation of ads.

What You'll Own

Creative Strategy & Research

  • Develop a deep understanding of our target audience, particularly U.S. healthcare owners, administrators, and operational decision-makers.
  • Research customer pain points, objections, motivations, and buying triggers.
  • Analyze existing winning and losing creatives to identify repeatable patterns.
  • Research competitor advertising, Meta Ad Library, organic content, and other sources for new hooks, angles, and concepts.
  • Develop creatives for different stages of customer awareness, including problem-aware, solution-aware, and product-aware audiences.
  • Build and maintain a library of winning hooks, angles, formats, and messaging.

Direct-Response Creative Production

  • Develop approximately 5–10 new ad concepts per week, with multiple hook, angle, or CTA variations where appropriate.
  • Write compelling hooks designed to capture attention within the first few seconds.
  • Write complete 30–60 second direct-response video scripts and accompanying shot lists.
  • Personally appear in UGC-style advertisements, including:
    • Talking-head videos
    • Walk-and-talk videos
    • Demonstration/explainer formats
    • Testimonial-style creatives
    • Problem/solution advertisements
  • Edit or assemble short-form creatives for platforms including Meta, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Turn successful concepts into multiple creative variations rather than constantly starting from scratch.

Performance & Optimization

You will be expected to understand the performance of your creatives and use that information to determine what should be produced next.

You will:

  • Review creative performance weekly or biweekly.
  • Analyze metrics such as:
    • Thumb-stop / 3-second view rate
    • Click-through rate (CTR)
    • Cost per lead (CPL)
    • Cost per qualified lead
    • Booked-call performance
    • Customer acquisition cost (CAC), where applicable
  • Identify winning and losing hooks, angles, formats, and messaging.
  • Develop iterations based on performance rather than producing disconnected creative ideas.
  • Clearly explain the hypothesis behind each new creative test.
  • Maintain organized creative tagging and documentation so performance patterns can be identified over time.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is measured by creative performance and learning velocity.

Within the role, we expect:

  • A consistent weekly pipeline of new creative concepts and variations.
  • New creatives that regularly outperform existing benchmarks across engagement, click-through, lead generation, or acquisition efficiency.
  • At least one new scalable creative winner on a recurring basis.
  • Clear documentation of winning hooks, angles, objections, and formats.
  • Increasing reuse and iteration of proven concepts rather than relying entirely on new ideas.
  • Meaningful insights during creative performance reviews—not simply delivery of finished files.

Required Experience

  • 2+ years of experience creating direct-response paid social advertising, preferably for B2B, service-based, staffing, healthcare, SaaS, or lead-generation businesses.
  • Demonstrable experience producing creatives specifically designed for paid acquisition—not solely organic social media content.
  • Strong on-camera presence and confidence delivering UGC-style or talking-head advertisements.
  • Portfolio demonstrating multiple direct-response video advertisements.
  • Ability to provide examples of creatives that contributed to improvements in metrics such as:
    • CPL
    • CAC
    • CTR
    • ROAS
    • Qualified lead volume
    • Booked calls
  • Strong understanding of Meta advertising creative and performance metrics.
  • Ability to interpret advertising data and translate findings into new creative decisions.
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills, particularly for short-form advertising.
  • Ability to independently research an audience and develop compelling hooks, angles, and scripts.

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is a strong advantage:

  • U.S. healthcare
  • Virtual assistant or outsourcing services
  • Staffing and recruitment
  • B2B lead generation
  • Professional services
  • TikTok advertising
  • YouTube Shorts advertising

Who We're Looking For

Data-Driven

You care about whether an advertisement performs—not simply whether it looks good.

Self-Directed

Once you understand the offer, target audience, brand, and performance data, you can independently research and develop the next batch of creative tests.

High-Output

You understand that paid-social performance requires consistent testing and iteration. You are comfortable producing multiple concepts and variations every week.

Customer-Obsessed

You continuously look for new customer pain points, objections, questions, language, and motivations that can become compelling advertising angles.

We are looking for someone who wants to take long-term ownership of a growing paid-social creative program and continuously improve its performance through research, experimentation, and data.
