NOTE: This role is hybrid and requires 3 days a week in our Walnut Creek, CA office.
The Manager, Video Production serves as a strategic, versatile, and highly organized leader of our internal creative services team. As the primary architect of our visual storytelling in this high-impact role, you will act as a strategic bridge between internal stakeholders and external agencies, while simultaneously serving as a hands-on creator who drives the production and editing of high-performing marketing assets. You will supervise and mentor a team of content creators and editors, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth. You will serve as a trusted advisor to marketing leaders, diagnosing creative needs and co-creating visual solutions that drive measurable business results across all marketing channels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • People Leadership: Supervise and mentor a small team of content creators/ editors (individual contributors), fostering a culture of continuous learning, inspiration, and accountability. Set goals for their performance and development, while ensuring timely delivery of video and photography marketing assets.
    • Cross-functional collaboration: Deliver projects and initiatives on behalf of, and in close collaboration with, marketing leaders of our line-of-business teams and marketing channels.
  • Agency Management & Production Oversight
    • Project Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external video agencies and production houses.
    • Creative Direction: Ensure agency deliverables align with brand guidelines, tone of voice, and strategic objectives. Review agency bids, manage production schedules, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Hands-On Content Creation
    • Production: Lead shoots to create video stories for MWG owned channels as well as paid marketing channels. This includes setting up lighting, audio, and operating 4K cinema cameras/DSLRs.
    • Post-Production: Edit raw footage into polished marketing assets (e.g., explainer videos, product demos, testimonials, sizzle reels).
    • Motion Graphics: Create basic lower-thirds, transitions, and text overlays to enhance video storytelling.
    • Pre-Production: Lead storyboarding and scriptwriting sessions with the creative team and marketing partners.
    • Asset Management: Maintain an organized digital asset management for all raw footage and final masters.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite and various digital creative tools.
  • Strong operational knowledge of professional camera systems, studio lighting kits, and field audio recording equipment.
  • Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to external partners and present complex creative concepts to executive leadership
  • Capability to pivot quickly in response to changing priorities or rapid global news cycles.
  • Expertise in directing non-professional talent, including company executives, to elicit high-quality on-camera performances.
  • Exceptional attention to detail regarding color grading, sound mixing, and "frame-perfect" visual storytelling
  • Ability to maintain high-end polish for a premium brand while remaining resourceful and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in video, photography, design or related field
    • 4-6 years of experience in video production
    • 5 years of Management Experience
    • Must provide a diverse demo reel that demonstrates a mastery of high-end production value alongside the ability to create effective, quick-turn marketing content.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Agency or in-house production experience
