Associate Videographer

The Associate Videographer serves as an essential part of the storytelling function, supporting the video production needs of Sports Warehouse. This position assists with obtaining footage, assembling, editing, using graphics, and producing final videos. The Associate Videographer is responsible for capturing video of product ranging from hard goods, apparel, and accessories or people representing or on behalf of the companies within Sports Warehouse. Videos may be shot in studio, with props, on talent, or outdoors depending on project requirements. They are expected to utilize their understanding of camera mechanics, shot composition, and lighting techniques to capture the best video possible requiring the least amount of post-production work.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Shoot and edit video for multiple Sports Warehouse companies by assembling recorded raw material into a finished product suitable for broadcast through web and television. The material may consist of camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and/or special effects.
  • Effectively direct talent on shoots to ensure a desired outcome.
  • Select colors, fonts, images, and layouts based on brand guidelines.
  • Manage multiple projects within design specs and budget restrictions.
  • Convey accurate messaging for the project through the footage shot and the edit produced.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Sports Warehouse teams in creating unique video marketing material.
  • Assist Camera Operators in studio and/or on location as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to work with Mac OS 13 or later.
  • Proficient with Sony camera equipment and lenses a plus.
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere CC.
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop CC a plus.
  • Proficient in Adobe After Effects CC a plus.
  • Able to problem solve creatively.
  • Able to function as part of a team, having a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Able to color correct video footage.
  • Understand visual storytelling techniques across a variety of platforms.
  • The ability to tell a story utilizing video footage shot in studio and/or on location using people or product as subject matter.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a fast-paced professional office environment. This is an inclusive and team-oriented environment, where communication and collaboration are key. The environment is designed to promote both focused work and creative brainstorming. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers/tablets. This role routinely uses professional photo and video equipment. The role may require working on location, both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in varying weather conditions. Travel via vehicle or plane may be required.
