Job description

Description

Under the direction of the Senior Video Production Manager, primary tasks for the Video Editor will revolve around video editing, creation of graphics, production of animated media, and organization of stored video projects. Other duties required may include writing, producing, and shooting video content for NCCER in a studio environment or off-site location as needed.


Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Work with various departments for all video and motion graphics needs
  2. Ingest and organize footage after video shoots
  3. Manage digital assets (video project files, raw footage, still images, music beds, etc.) in a digital asset manager (DAM)
  4. Suggest equipment and software needs to Senior Video Production Manager
  5. Care for and manage NCCER's video production equipment
  6. Assist in live event and studio production, including setting a stage, lighting a set, and shooting footage with video or still camera
  7. Other duties as assigned, as this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Video Production, Film, Television, or a related field and 2 years of professional editing experience OR 4 years of professional editing experience
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work with varying and changing needs
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-task, detail oriented, and deadline-driven environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and able to follow direction
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and brands simultaneously
  • Understanding of broadcast and digital distribution best practices including technical aspects of production

Software Skills:

  • High proficiency with non-linear editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve required
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator highly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook

Motion Graphics Requirements:

  • Creation of motion graphics assets for video such as title cards, lower thirds and end cards
  • Conception and execution of motion graphics animation-based projects
  • Animation of design assets
  • Provide creative vision to the editing process, bringing your own style to create beautifully composed work
  • Organize and maintain video files, including following best practices for version control, naming conventions, and organization of graphic files
  • Maintain and troubleshoot editing and animation programs

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Works in an indoor office environment with moderate noise level
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision
