MUFG’s market leading project finance practice covers multiple verticals including power/renewable energy, oil and gas, transportation and digital infrastructure. There may also be an opportunity to support aviation finance and leasing.The selected colleague will work in our New York City office four days per week and work remotely one day.Responsibilities:* Oversee a credit portfolio comprised of Project Finance and Leveraged Lending Loans.* Perform ongoing credit reviews to assign accurate ratings and closely monitor existing Problem Loans and Watch List accounts.* Lead the bank group in deals where MUFG is Administrative Agent and coordinate with all stakeholders, as appropriate (e.g. Counsel, Independent Engineer, Sponsor, Collateral Agent, Depositary Bank, Tax Equity Investor etc.)* Conduct site visits and attend bank/customer meetings.* Coordinate and communicate critical account information independently and directly to various related parties throughout the bank, business line, product groups, special asset department and credit divisions.* Monitor matured/maturing loans/credit lines and coordinate appropriate renewal.* Ensure compliance with external regulatory/internal policy and procedural requirements.The right candidate will have:* Relevant work experience in analyzing/supporting project finance credits in financial institutions or equivalent in credit and/or risk related function. Credit experience in aviation finance or other structured finance (securitization, leasing) is a plus.* Sound knowledge of credit analysis and risk management* Ability to understand and work with complex financial models to assess the borrower’s repayment ability* Sound knowledge of finance, accounting, loan documentation and credit/structural risks* Strong communication skills to lead large groups of sophisticated lenders and sponsors* An understanding of the regulatory environment in the U.S. (OCC, FRB). An understanding of the regulatory environment in Japan (FSA, BOJ) is a plus* Administrative agency and/or workout experience is a plus* BA or BS required, MBA preferredCompensation and Benefits:The typical base pay range for this role is between $175K - $210K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location with eligibility for discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
