Role Summary

The Vice President, Operations provides executive-level leadership to develop and manage multiple functional areas and cross‑functional teams. The VP shapes organizational strategy, leads cross-functional initiatives, and ensures operational excellence across Alliance’s schools.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Own the operational strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of Alliance's school support systems to enable strong scholar outcomes.
  • Guide functional leads of the Operations Division to develop clear, measurable operational plans aligned with the larger strategy.
  • Lead and develop school‑facing operational support teams to strengthen coaching, improve school performance, and ensure consistent implementation of network priorities.
  • Drive initiatives to improve cross‑functional coordination and communication with other Home Office departments.
  • Hold functional teams accountable for achieving network operational performance goals through clear expectations and performance management.
  • Develop organizational capacity by designing scalable systems, strengthening leadership pipelines, and reducing operational variability across schools.
  • Manage and coach direct reports, oversee Team operations, review work with actionable feedback, and build operational capacity with coaching and professional learning.
  • Implement a vision and framework for hiring, operations leadership professional development, staff development, and performance management in alignment with the Alliance School Operations Leadership rubric.
  • Manage budgets for the Network Operations Lead, Business Operations, and Facilities teams.
  • Oversee strategic leadership of Business Operations, including attendance strategy, nutrition program oversight, safety strategy, scholar health operations, and operational monitoring.
  • Oversee Facilities Maintenance & Repair Team: ensure regulatory compliance, risk management, vendor strategy, capital improvement projects, and financial stewardship.
  • Lead the Network Operations Lead Team to provide operational support, define expectations, ensure effective coaching, identify systemic barriers, and scale high‑impact practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Benefits & Compensation
  • Competitive salary range: $130,000.00 – $173,500.00.
  • Generous retirement and health benefits.

  • Relocation bonus: $5,000 for individuals and $7,500 for families/partners residing outside the Greater Los Angeles area.
  • Hybrid work model: combination of working from home, network office, and travel to school sites; $400 work‑from‑home set‑up allowance and a monthly stipend of $100.
