SUMMARY

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Vice President Finance will work closely with ownership and senior leadership to drive growth initiatives, evaluate acquisitions and development opportunities, lead financing strategies, and provide financial leadership across a diverse and growing residential and commercial portfolio in London, Ontario.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead, manage, and coach the Controller and Yardi Specialist, supporting a collaborative team of finance professionals.
  • Provide strategic financial leadership and work closely with ownership and senior leadership on key business decisions, growth opportunities, and long-term planning.
  • Provide executive oversight of financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, internal controls, and enterprise risk management to ensure sound governance and financial integrity.
  • Provide strategic leadership for annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, capital planning, and long-range financial strategy.
  • Partner with operations, construction, development, and property management teams to provide financial analysis, guidance, and decision support.
  • Lead financing activities, including banking relationships, mortgage financing, construction lending, capital sourcing, and lender negotiations.
  • Maintain relationships with lenders, shareholders, auditors, legal counsel, and other external business partners.
  • Drive financial due diligence, analysis, and modeling for acquisitions, developments, and capital projects.
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction for commercial cost recovery, budgeting, and financial performance across the portfolio.
  • Lead insurance, tax planning, grant and incentive opportunities, and risk management initiatives to protect company assets and optimize financial outcomes.
  • Champion financial systems and technology initiatives, including Yardi optimization, process improvements, and the implementation of scalable financial solutions that support company growth.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management level role, ideal if experience includes real estate or commercial properties.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role leading accounting/finance team.
  • University degree with a focus in business, finance or accounting related field of study.
  • Professional CPA designation
  • Advanced Excel abilities, Yardi experience an asset.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and strong problem solving.
  • Leadership skills and demonstrated skill developing and maintaining relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written English.
  • Criminal background check required (paid by BlueStone).
  • Proof of valid driverโ€™s license, access to vehicle in good working order with liability insurance of $1,000,000 or more.
