Overview

This Sr Vice President of Software Engineering role can be remote throughout the United States or hybrid 2โ€‘3 days per week in our American Fork, UT office. The senior executive will lead technology strategy for all North American applications and integrations at Henry Schein One, driving innovation, scalability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee North American software development, ensuring delivery of scalable, secure and highโ€‘quality solutions.
  • Collaborate crossโ€‘functionally with architecture, security, DevOps, product management and business stakeholders.
  • Champion modern development practices, design patterns and AIโ€‘enabled approaches.
  • Advocate for customers, enhancing system reliability, performance and user experience.
  • Lead engineering organizations through AI transformations and continuous improvement.
  • Own technology budgets, resource allocations and operational efficiencies; justify investments in terms of ROI, risk and strategic impact.
  • Maintain technology governance, architecture and compliance, ensuring alignment with regulatory, security and industry standards.
  • Define and execute a technology strategy aligned with business and digital transformation goals.
  • Build offshore talent pools, engage internal and external stakeholders, and drive product innovation and service expansion.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusivity and continuous improvement; build, mentor and retain highโ€‘performing teams.
Qualifications
  • 15โ€‘20 years of technical experience in software R&D, with 5โ€‘7 years in senior leadership.
  • Proven success leading largeโ€‘scale software initiatives with deep expertise in software design, system engineering, data engineering, cloud platforms and quality assurance.
  • Strong strategic, organizational and communication skills; ability to influence executive and business stakeholders.
  • Track record of driving innovation, operational excellence and measurable business outcomes.
Experience & Skills
  • Experience in defining and executing enterprise technology strategy.
  • Expertise in modern cloud and AI technologies.
  • Strong budget ownership and governance experience.
Education
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
  • Advanced degree or equivalent professional experience is a differentiator.
