A growing, privately held, product-focused organization in the Tampa Bay area is seeking a hands-on Vice President of Finance to join its leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to step into a highly visible role with significant influence across the business.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Finance will provide leadership for all financial operations of a growing distribution organization. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, this individual will oversee accounting, financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, inventory finance, banking relationships, and strategic business initiatives. The VP of Finance will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership, driving profitability, operational efficiency, and scalable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting and finance functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs focused on revenue growth, gross margin, inventory turns, working capital, and EBITDA.
  • Partner with operations, purchasing, sales, and distribution leadership to improve business performance.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, costing, pricing analysis, and vendor rebate programs.
  • Prepare financial statements and executive-level reporting packages.
  • Drive annual budgeting process.
  • Present financial results to Board of Directors
  • Strengthen internal controls, financial processes, and systems infrastructure.
  • Manage and mentor accounting and finance staff.

Preferred Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
  • Experience in distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, consumer products, or inventory-intensive environments.
  • Strong understanding of inventory valuation, purchasing, logistics, and supply chain finance.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and executive reporting.
  • Proven ability to support owner-operated or privately held businesses.
  • ERP experience (Sage 100 preferred).
  • Experience using AI to improve workflows and data analysis.
