JOB SUMMARY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Vice President of Student Services to serve our campuses districtwide. As the Chief Student Services Officer in a dynamic and rapidly growing District, the Vice President of Student Services, under the direction of the Superintendent/President, plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates an effective comprehensive Student Services Program that supports student access, equity, and success. The incumbent provides leadership and supervision in the following areas: Enrollment Services, Counseling, International Students, Financial Aid, Intercollegiate Athletics, Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE), Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS), Student Life, Health Services, Mental Health Services, Veterans Services, and Federal TRIO Programs. The incumbent plans, organizes, provides direction, evaluates and supervises personnel and effectively represents and develops an effective student services program. They will purposefully design, encourage and implement student achievement, success, and retention strategies, culturally relevant pedagogies, practices, and programs that result in an effective, welcoming, and equitable learning environment for student success. The successful candidate for this position will be a creative, dynamic, and collaborative leader who is committed to advancing student access, equity, and success for our diverse student body. The Vice President of Student Services collaborates with the Vice President of Instruction, Vice President of Human Resources, Vice President of Business Services, and a dedicated team of professionals to ensure that the College maintains its strong integration of student services and instruction while working toward achieving the College's mission and strategic goals.
This is an administrative position, exempt from overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, with responsibility for formulation and recommendation of district policies, regulations and budget decisions related to the area of responsibility.
Initial placement on the salary schedule will be commensurate with education and experience, along with a car and cell phone allowance stipends. This is a 12-month administrative position with day and evening assignments. Educational administrators serve under contract and make contributions toward STRS (a retirement plan). Benefit package includes comprehensive medical, dental and vision plans, life insurance, sick leave, and 22 days of vacation per year. While this current vacancy is expected at the San Jacinto Campus, Administrators serve districtwide and may be assigned to the San Jacinto Campus, the Menifee Valley Campus, the Temecula Valley Campus or any District facility. Additional openings that become available prior to the end of the hiring process may also be filled from the qualified applicants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plan, organize and administer admissions and records, registration, graduation, counseling, intercollegiate athletics, financial aid, EOPS, DSPS, Health Services, Federal TRIO Programs, student activities, and extracurricular activities
2. Collaborate with Instruction
   1. on high school outreach, articulation, dual enrollment, and matriculation
   2. on preparation of the college calendar
   3. on enrollment management initiatives to optimize enrollment and student success
3. Set the vision for the division that focuses on student access, equity, and success as well as institutional effectiveness
4. Maintain student records
5. Develop and prioritize budget recommendations for all Student Services areas and assist in the preparation and administration of the annual District budget
6. Develop and administer all regulations and policies relating to the Student Services division
7. Facilitate the resolution of student complaints and grievances
8. Administer/coordinate student discipline issues as they arise
9. Assist in the preparation of class schedules and college catalogs
10. Coordinate the preparation of the college calendar
11. Direct research on topics relating to student success
12. Administer high school outreach, articulation, dual enrollment, and matriculation
13. Prepare Board reports and documents for the Student Services division
14. Assist in interpreting College programs to the general public through community contacts and participation in community activities
15. Serve as a member of the Superintendent/President's Executive Cabinet
16. Work collaboratively within a participatory governance environment
17. Stimulate self-reflection and assessment, including Student Learning Outcomes (SLO's) for the division, that lead to ongoing improvement
18. Coordinate and monitor program reviews and assessment for the Student Services division
19. Through continued study and participation in professional organizations, maintain an understanding of current ideas, research and practices pertaining to the areas of responsibility for the position
20. Participate in local, regional, and State activities to promote the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District and the community college movements
21. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent/President or designee

2. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of data driven decision-making related to enrollment management and student retention
3. Activities, admissions, attendance accounting, and registration procedures
4. Leadership and managerial techniques with a track record of fiscal integrity, responsibility, and accountability
5. Principles and practices of administration, supervision, and training
6. Applicable laws, Education codes, regulations, policies, and procedures

The incumbent should possess skills in:

7. Identifying gaps in student outcomes on the basis of factors such as race, ethnicity, and gender, and then mobilizing the College to improve results

2. Direct, supervise, and formally evaluate the work of managers, supervisors, and others

Education and Experience

1. A Master's degree from an accredited institution; (attach transcripts) AND
2. One (1) year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's assignment; AND
3. Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience that includes the development and implementation and/or management of programs that support student success, preferably at the college level or in an educational setting

Licenses and Certifications:

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Effective/successful administrative experience in a student services field preferably at the college level
2. Experience with Accreditation Standards and the ability to develop SLO's and Department Level Outcomes (DLO's) for the division
3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with a variety of student services programs
4. Demonstrated history of successful integrated planning, implementation, and assessment/evaluation of efforts
5. Working as part of a team, the ability to pursue and secure new resource streams to support student success
