Job description

A global alternative asset management firm is seeking a Vice President, Fund Accounting to join its flagship private markets platform.
This is a newly created position driven by continued growth and represents an exceptional opportunity to join one of the industry's premier investment managers. The role offers significant exposure to sophisticated private equity and alternative investment structures while leading accounting activities supporting the firm's flagship closed-end funds.
What you'll be doing:
  • Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for multiple closed-end funds and separate accounts
  • Supervise and mentor Accounting Managers responsible for day-to-day fund accounting activities
  • Lead the monthly close process, including portfolio pricing, reconciliations, management fee calculations, and expense accruals
  • Review quarterly and annual financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and maintain a strong internal control environment
  • Review fund performance calculations and consolidated reporting across the investment strategy
  • Research complex technical accounting matters and assist with implementing new accounting guidance
  • Partner closely with investment professionals, client service teams, auditors, and third-party administrators
  • Support ad hoc reporting and strategic initiatives across the private equity platform

We're looking for professionals with:
  • 12+ years of investment fund accounting experience (VP level)
  • Combination of Big Four public accounting and in-house fund accounting experience
  • Asset management experience is required
  • Deep understanding of closed-end fund accounting and private investment vehicles
  • Experience reviewing fund financial statements prepared under U.S. GAAP
  • Strong knowledge of partnership accounting, reconciliations, and complex investment structures
  • Experience with leverage facilities, investment participation structures, and private equity fund mechanics is highly desirable
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with Geneva and/or Investran is a plus
