THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the SVP BSA & OFAC Risk and Strategy Director, the VP, BSA & OFAC Data Analytics position is responsible for supporting the Bank's BSA and OFAC risk management framework through data analytics, model governance, and risk reporting and metrics. The role serves as the primary liaison between BSA Department, Technology, Data Management, Model Risk Management, and business stakeholders to ensure AML and OFAC systems, risk models, monitoring scenarios, risk assessments, and regulatory reporting are supported by accurate data, appropriate governance, and defensible documentation. This individual will support enterprise BSA and OFAC risk assessments, transaction monitoring optimization, and model governance initiatives. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
  • Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL databases, web analytics) to ensure accuracy and consistency for analysis.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and anomalies.
  • Develop and maintain key datasets and models to support ongoing reporting.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated dashboards and reports (using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker) to track transaction monitoring rules performance.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Assist with A/B testing, designing experiments, analyzing results, and providing statistically sound conclusions.
  • Maintain model documentation for transaction monitoring scenarios, customer risk rating methodologies, sanctions screening models.
  • Support model validation activities by coordinating documentation, testing evidence, data lineage, assumptions, and methodology reviews.
  • Ensure monitoring scenarios and risk models remain appropriately documented, defensible, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
  • Support issue remediation efforts resulting from model validation, audit, regulatory examinations, and independent testing.
  • Support transaction monitoring optimization, threshold reviews, segmentation analysis, and scenario tuning initiatives.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate monitoring effectiveness.
  • Assist with monitoring strategy development based on risk assessments, emerging risks, enforcement actions, and industry typologies.
  • Evaluate alert volumes, productivity metrics, and monitoring performance to identify enhancement opportunities.
  • Support implementation and testing of monitoring strategy changes.
  • Support AML and OFAC system implementations, upgrades, and optimization projects.
  • Participate in business requirements development, user acceptance testing (UAT), and system configuration reviews.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field and a minimum of 8+ years' experience in financial crimes.
  • Either Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification, Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS), or other applicable industry designation required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of direct professional experience in a data analyst or similar position.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with spreadsheets (advanced Excel/Google Sheets functions, pivot tables).
  • Foundational knowledge of statistical concepts (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, distributions).
  • Experience with a programming language for data analysis (e.g., Python with Pandas, R).
  • Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data warehousing concepts
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions.
  • Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints.
  • Ability to operate in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work in an up-tempo, fast paced and evolving environment.
  • Ability to make informed critical decisions within the area of responsibility.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment.

SALARY RANGE
The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
