Senior Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer to join our Wealth Services team. This role is in New York, NY
You'll build mission-critical applications that power high availability, high transaction throughput workflows, and meet stringent security controls-delivering modern experiences to our clients. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong emphasis on system design, AI-first development practices, and deploying resilient services in Azure AKS.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to impact on our organization in the following ways:
  • Lead implementation of scalable and robust full-stack applications using Core Java, Advanced Java, Spring Framework, and Angular
  • Design and develop software applications using Test Driven Development with Spring Boot Microservices architecture
  • Create dynamic and responsive front-end applications using Angular.
  • Maintain software functionality and currency (technical debt and gain).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the full stack.
  • Partner with business and subject matter experts to define requirements and deliver strategic data solutions.
  • Execute the full software development lifecycle, applying security, privacy, and quality assurance best practices. Hands on coding experience is required
  • Actively participate in code reviews. Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Apply security and privacy principles.
  • Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications.
  • Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group.
  • Guides and consults with IT management and technical staff regarding use of emerging technologies and associated services.
  • Participates in defining corporate implementation and integration strategies for new technologies.
  • Active learning engagement.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 10-12 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus; should have thorough knowledge of the software development cycle
  • S/he must also have experience developing Back-end , low latency, high throughput processing applications
  • Proficiency with latest Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture.
  • Strong database experience with any relational database, including data modeling, query optimization and stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with containerization and cloud environments (e.g Docker and Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of CI/CD processes, code reviews and secure coding practices.
  • Ability to work with APIs for integration and communication across systems.
  • Experience with mainframe transformation efforts is a plus
  • Experience with messaging - MQ, Kafka is preferred.
  • Prefer having experience with AI tools like Windsurf, Codex, Github copilot and experience building agentic AI, LLM based solutions.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $120,000 and $253,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
