Position Summary...What you'll do...About Role:
TheGroup Director, Software Engineering - Supply Chain Technology Operationswill lead theoperationalstrategy, execution, andperformanceof the technology platforms that power Walmart's end-to-end supply chain network. In this role, you'll drive reliability, scalability, and modernization of mission-critical systems supportingfulfillment, transportation, inventory management, and distribution operations across one of the world's largest supply chains.
This role sits at the intersection of technologyand operationspartnering closely with Supply Chain Operations, Fulfillment, Transportation, Product, Engineering, Data & AI, and Enterprise Technology teams to deliver resilient, scalable solutions that enable Walmart to serve customers faster, more efficiently, and at lower cost.
The position is based in Bentonville, AR and reports to the Vice President, Technology Operations.
What You will do:
  • Defining and executing Walmart's Supply Chain Technology Operations strategy, ensuring highly available, resilient, and scalable platforms that support fulfillment and transportation operations.
  • Driving AI and automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enable proactive issue detection and resolution.
  • Leading operational excellence programs that enhance system reliability, reduce incident volume, and improve service performance across supply chain technology platforms.
  • Partnering with Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Transportation, Product, Engineering, and Data & AI teams to accelerate innovation and technology adoption.
  • Building world-class teams and operational capabilities that support Walmart's continued growth and transformation.
  • Optimizing technology investments while improving speed, cost efficiency, associate productivity, and customer experience across the supply chain ecosystem.

  • You have extensive experience leading large-scale technology operations in supply chain, logistics, retail, or other highly complex operational environments.
  • You have a proven track record of improving platform reliability, operational performance, and service delivery through modern engineering and operational practices.
  • You understand how to leverage AI, automation, and advanced analytics to drive productivity, reduce operational complexity, and improve decision-making.
  • You excel at building and leading high-performing teams while influencing across business, product, engineering, and operations organizations.

The annual salary range for this position is $195,000.00 - $370,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
