Job description

Position Title: Vice President - Finance (Oil & Gas)

Department: Finance

Location: Denver

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Salary Range: $245,000 to $286,000

Job Summary

The VP of Finance is an executive-level position responsible for the forward Planning, Budgeting, Treasury, Hedging, M&A, CapitalMarketsand offering processes. This position helpsto overseethe organization's financial operations to ensure financial health, and support high-level strategic planning / growth.

Essential Functions
  • Collaborates across various business functions (Finance, Accounting, Corporate Development, Operations, Land, and Legal) to understand business needs, develop strategies, and ensure financial goals support business objectives
  • Responsible for financial modeling and analytical tools to measure and forecast the impact of various economic scenarios, risks, and business changes
  • Owns and develops the internal NAV Model for financial modeling related to various strategicobjectives, M&A, hedging program, capital markets, etc.
  • Partnership with Corporate Development to align financial needs of the business, partner on the corporate model, FP&A andforward lookingforecaston a monthly basis
  • Implement optimized financial processes to ensuretimelyinternal reporting for real-time decision making, Board meetings, reporting, etc.
  • Prepare presentations to Senior Management, the Board ofDirectorsand external parties
  • Maintaina database tracking the performance of corporate merger candidates, and works with Corp Development Team to model and evaluate
  • Create andmaintainworking relationships with various external stakeholders, including, but not limited to investment bankers and commercial lenders
  • Assistin the accounting aspects of acquisitions and divestitures
  • Assistin preparation of Board reporting, earnings releases, and other management reporting requests
  • Flexibility to own / attack special projects as needed
Qualifications / Skills / Special Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in business / finance / accounting
  • MBApreferred
  • Minimum of 10 yearsexperiencein oil and gas accounting
  • Asset level experience withupstream oil and gas business
  • Extensive oil and gas financial modeling experience
  • Experience with Aires, oil and gas ERP systems (e.g.Quorum) preferred
  • Positive culture carrier, leads by example, a doer with an extreme ownership philosophy
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office products including advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of financial statements and purchase accounts, discounted cashflowand internal rates of return
  • Ability to work under pressure and overtime
  • Demonstrate high degree of integrity

  • Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.
  • The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Field work will be outdoors under variable weather conditions
