Job description

Position Overview

Persivia is seeking an elite engineering leader who thrives in a high-velocity, high-stakes environment. This role is for someone who builds exceptional teams, delivers flawlessly, raises the bar every quarter, and refuses mediocrity. You will own engineering execution across one of the most critical AI-powered healthcare platforms in the country powering care management, population health, real-time analytics, and Persivia’s VisionAI Hub and agentic AI system. The VP/Director of Engineering must be a force multiplier: someone who can scale teams, eliminate blockers, modernize architectures, and push the organization toward operational excellence with urgency and discipline. This is not a maintenance role. This is build, scale, transform, deliver; every week, every quarter.

Build a Top-1% Engineering Organization
  • Recruit, coach, and retain A-players only, no passengers.
  • Implement a performance-driven culture with clear expectations and accountability.
  • Build team structures that maximize ownership, autonomy, and velocity.
  • Remove chronic underperformance quickly and decisively.
Drive Relentless Execution & Delivery
  • Own delivery end-to-end: no delays, no surprises, no excuses.
  • Ensure 100% Error Free Release
  • Improve engineering velocity by 20–40% within 6–12 months.
  • Strengthen planning, release discipline, predictability, and cross-team execution.
  • Ensure engineering is defined by speed, quality, and reliability.
Architect and Modernize a Scalable AI-Native Platfor
  • Lead modernization toward cloud-native, event-driven, microservices-first architecture.
  • Ensure platforms are built for scale, resilience, observability, and clinical correctness.
  • Push aggressive timelines for retiring legacy components.
  • Fully operationalize real-time AI agents across workflows.
Accelerate AI Integration & Agentic Automation
  • Integrate LLMs, multimodal models, and autonomous agents into production at pace.
  • Ensure engineering and data science are tightly aligned and high-performing.
  • Build infrastructure for high-availability, auditable, safe agent deployment.
  • Create AI-first user experiences across modules.
Enforce Security, Reliability & Technical Excellence
  • Zero tolerance for lax security, careless coding, or unobserved systems.
  • Strengthen DevOps, CI/CD, observability, automated testing, and governance.
  • Implement strict RCA and ongoing reliability improvements.
  • Maintain HIPAA, SOC2, CMS compliance at all times.
Strategic Partnership Across the Organization
  • Partner with Product, Clinical Leadership, Implementation, IT, and Data Science.
  • Ensure engineering output aligns with clinical and business priorities.
  • Operate with precision, urgency, and transparency.
  • Represent engineering with strong executive presence.
Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years engineering experience, including leading large multi-team organizations.
  • Proven record of building elite, high-output teams.
  • Deep expertise in cloud-native systems, microservices, AI/ML, and DevOps.
  • Strong architectural judgment and decision-making discipline.
  • Experience delivering healthcare SaaS under strict regulatory controls.
Preferred Traits (Culture Fit)
  • Operates with extreme ownership.
  • Drives urgency and high tempo across teams.
  • Thrives under pressure and ambiguity.
  • Expects excellence — demands it from self and others.
  • Eliminates silos, blockers, and excuses.
  • Sets aggressive goals and hits them.
Success Indicators
  • A high-performance engineering team with strong morale and zero tolerance for mediocrity.
  • Faster delivery cycles, fewer production issues, higher-quality releases.
  • A modern, scalable, AI-native platform powering Persivia’s next decade of growth.
  • Reduced technical debt and accelerated modernization.
  • High confidence from executives, clinicians, and clients.
