Job description
Job Summary
The Vice President of Business Development's primary responsibility is for the front-end of DISA's uranium resource pipeline, working with the greater commercial team to identify, evaluate, and securing uranium bearing sites for DISA through commercial agreements and partnerships. This role bridges resource characterization with commercial deal execution, translating geological opportunity into viable contractual arrangements with site owners. Ideal candidate will own the business development cycle and be a natural relationship builder who can communicate DISA's value proposition compellingly to landowners, mining groups, and government counterparties. The success of this role is based on the ability to close deals that directly fuel the company's growth.
Education/ Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, geology, earth sciences or related field required.
- 7+ years of experience working in business development, sales, commercial role in mining, environmental services, or land acquisition required.
- Prior experience in a startup with an industry focus on resource or environmental services preferred.
Supervisor
VP of Finance and Corp Development, unless otherwise designated.
Typical Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a robust prospect list, systematically working leads from initial contact through to site evaluation and deal execution.
- Leverage GIS tools, geological databases, and industry contacts to identify high-potential targets.
- Own the end-to-end business development process: prospecting, discovery, proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Develop and deliver compelling commercial proposals and presentations that clearly articulate DISA's value proposition and economic benefits to site owners.
- Negotiate and close heads of agreement, option agreements, site access agreements, and remediation service contracts.
- Meet or exceed annual site acquisition targets, with clear accountability for pipeline conversion rates and deal velocity.
- Build and sustain trusted long-term relationships with landowners, tribal entities, mining companies, remediation contractors, and government agencies.
- Act as the face of DISA in the field, conducting site visits and in-person meetings with counterparties to advance commercial discussions.
- Maintain a disciplined CRM-based pipeline, tracking all opportunities by stage, probability, value, and expected close date.
- Provide weekly pipeline updates and monthly performance reports to the General Manager, including wins, losses, and deal progression.
- Analyze win/loss patterns to continuously refine DISA's go-to-market approach and improve conversion rates.
- Coordinate with the Characterization Team to ensure field programs align with commercial commitments and site access timelines.
- Work with legal counsel to ensure all agreements are compliant and consistent with DISA's risk and contracting standards.
- Abide by all policies and procedures established by DISA.
- Attend and participate in all required safety trainings.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

- Proficiency in CRM tools for pipeline management and reporting discipline.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team, supporting shared goals and fostering positive relationships.
- Adapt to dynamic environments and identify solutions to challenges with flexibility and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain professionalism with high attention to detail, reliability, accountability, and accuracy in all work deliverables.
- Uphold and demonstrate DISA's Values of Dedication, Innovation, Sustainability, and Accelerate Change.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA/MSHA and company safety standards.
