Job Description
We're on the hunt for a Vice President of Accounting who can turn numbers into a symphony of strategic success. This role is all about leading our finance team to new heights, collaborating with the Director of Accounting, and shaping the company's financial destiny.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Maestro: Craft and execute financial strategies that align with our growth objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  2. Reporting Virtuoso: Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, from monthly to annual, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  3. Risk Wrangler: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including those pesky tax, currency, and regulatory compliance challenges.
  4. Internal Control Maestro: Establish and maintain a fortress of internal controls to protect company assets and stay on the right side of the regulatory line.
  5. Team Leader Extraordinaire: Provide guidance and direction to the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  6. Audit and Compliance Conductor: Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with financial reporting and disclosure requirements.
  7. Tax Planning Maestro: Work hand in hand with tax advisors to develop tax strategies that optimize our tax position while staying on the straight and narrow of the law.
  8. Process Improviser: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and improve the accuracy of financial reporting.
  9. Cross-functional Collaborator: Work closely with other departments to support business initiatives and strategic objectives.
  10. Professional Development Guru: Stay up to date with industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes, and ensure ongoing professional development for yourself and the accounting team.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  1. CPA Certification: Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with active licensure.
  2. Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity. Prior experience in manufacturing and/or construction industries is highly desirable.
  4. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (GAAP), and regulatory requirements.
