Veterinary Technician - Position Summary

The Veterinary Technician works alongside veterinarians to provide high-quality patient care, support hospital operations, educate clients, and maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role serves as an essential member of the veterinary medical team by assisting with treatments, procedures, surgery, patient monitoring, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians by assisting with patient care, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures.
  • Obtain patient histories and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Monitor hospitalized and surgical patients.
  • Educate clients on preventive care, treatment plans, hospital services, and wellness programs.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe treatment areas, exam rooms, and laboratory spaces.
  • Utilize veterinary technical skills in accordance with state practice regulations.
  • Assist with surgical procedures when applicable.
  • Mentor and support other paraprofessional team members.
  • Demonstrate and uphold Banfield Pet Hospital's Five Principles: Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom.

Required Qualifications
  • Veterinary Technician credential required (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT).

  • Must be proficient in veterinary technical skills and comfortable using medical software and Microsoft Office applications.
