Job description


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for veterinary patients throughout examinations, treatments, surgery, and recovery.

  • Obtain and accurately document patient histories, vital signs, and medical records.

  • Perform diagnostic procedures, including laboratory sample collection, imaging support, and in-house laboratory testing.

  • Administer medications, vaccinations, anesthesia, and advanced treatments in accordance with veterinary protocols.

  • Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgical procedures, and emergency treatments.

  • Educate pet owners regarding treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.

  • Maintain accurate medical documentation using veterinary practice management software.

  • Ensure proper maintenance, sterilization, and operation of medical equipment.

  • Maintain compliance with hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.

Leadership & Training
  • Mentor, train, and support veterinary assistants, technicians, and veterinary students.

  • Demonstrate leadership by promoting teamwork, accountability, and high-quality patient care.

  • Assist with onboarding and evaluating new clinical team members.

  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows and patient care processes.

  • Support hospital leadership in maintaining operational excellence and efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications
  • Active Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential.

  • Associate's degree or equivalent veterinary technology education from an accredited program.

  • Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing, anesthesia monitoring, diagnostics, radiology, and laboratory procedures.

  • Experience administering medications and collecting diagnostic samples.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail.
