Work Schedule

Blue Ridge Community College invites applications from licensed veterinary technicians for a part-time position supporting its highly regarded Veterinary Technology Program and working alongside a large team of experienced, talented veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
The Veterinary Technology Instructional Lab Support position involves...
- Supervising students in laboratory and clinical settings
- Laboratory preparation and maintenance
- Providing veterinary care to animals
- Other program-related functions
Program facilities are well equipped for all aspects of veterinary technology instruction in delivering a broad array of courses. The program benefits from strong college administration and community support.
This is a part-time wage position, limited to 900 - 1100 hours within a 12-month period, with no benefits. There is potential eligibility for educational assistance for BRCC classes and job-related training and/or certifications.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Current licensure as a veterinary technician in Virginia (or eligibility for immediate licensure)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience providing quality care to program animals
- Commitment to educating program students
- Candidates should be comfortable working with Microsoft Office Suite and Google workspace.
Additional Considerations
Helpful, but not required:
- Previous experience in an academic setting and recent clinical experience
- Experience with IDEXX suite of equipment, including IDEXX neo
